It’s not often you turn up for a wake to find the atmosphere more sombrero than sombre but that’s how it was at Celtic Park on Sunday 29th April 2012.  Paradise was Party Central as the league flag celebrations and administration commiserations got underway.  Scotland’s Shame had been rocked to its’ foundations in recent weeks after Celtic cantered to the title while their very existence came under threat. Saturday was one of those days that money simply can’t buy. Brilliant scintillating football, six first-class goals and the SPL wrapped up in style. The key ingredient was appetite, and a fairly obvious desire to say a large “Sorry” to the supporters who had been mystified by a sub-standard performance in the League Cup final. It goes without saying that we are all upset to hear about Stilian Petrov, and we wish him well in his battle against leukaemia. He was a fine player for Martin O’Neill’s side after a difficult start under John Barnes when he seemed to be played out of position in some of the strange team line-ups that Barnes sent out.
