Statement On The Supreme Court Ruling.

Since the Supreme Court ruling last week concerning Rangers (pre 2012) use of Employee Benefit Trusts and the final judgment that they were used illegally, The Affiliation have been gathering the views of its delegates.

Our delegate’s views are clear. Scottish Football needs to move on and for this to happen we must have full transparency and robust governance from those who run our game. At the moment we have nether.

For the above to happen we require a full independent review into the European Licensing procedure for season 2011/12. This is widely known as Resolution 12.

We also ask for the Lord Nimmo Smith Enquiry to be set aside and a full independent review into the illegal use of DOS/EBT’s to be commenced.

While calling for these reviews we have no desire to see the game in Scotland destroy itself.  We ask for these reviews so the game in Scotland can move on for the greater good of all. This call, the process of any reviews and the outcomes of these reviews should be respectfully observed by all involved as we have a duty to the game.

It’s notable that numerous other fans groups have also called for independent reviews and improved governance.

That so many are calling for transparency and without fear or favour governance tells you all you need to know about how those who run our game are perceived. This can’t continue.

We urge all fans to contact their respective clubs to make their feelings known on these issues.

Scottish Football is in a corrupt state and this must be eradicated and justice should be served in order for the game in Scotland to regain its credibility and reputation. If those in power are unable to give full, honest and plausible accountability and allocate just and appropriate punishment to those who have cheated the game in Scotland then they must resign with immediate effect and people who are able to govern the game in Scotland fairly and for all put in their place. Then and only then can we move on.

Good statement, straight to the point.
Let’s hope we get some clarity.

Surely someone could set up a crowd funded legal challenge or judicial review to expose these people, I for one would donate. Maybe Donald Findlay could be hired, the very thought would have the SFA queueing up to jump off the new forth road bridge.

This should be shared as widely as possible. I am confident the majority of Scottish football fans would be happy to see the back of this debacle and would contribute to crowdfunding to have the whole issue resolved. Donald Findlay would be the ideal professional to lead the case.

I would like to see an independent inquiry into the SFA/SPFL and the EBTs scandal as the institution that ran this tax evasion scheme and the people who were supposed to stop this type of thing happening have utterly shamed Scottish football and the cheating that occurred should be punished and the people who allowed it should be punished. Any titles/ trophies won by cheating is a total disgrace on the association.

Justice must be served and the Scottish football governing body should be exposed.

Totally agree with this, the governing body is condoning cheating and are actually complicit here,
We do not want the titles, we want these stripped from this club, if they are not the game is as good as dead.

Good blog, however i disagree with the perpetrators of the tax evasion being referred to as Rangers (pre 2012). That suggests that club is the same one playing out of Ibrox today! The cheating club was called RFC, and were liquidated in 2012! We have to always be clear on this! HH!

Excellent , I hope this gathers legs ad the other clubs are willing to voice their concerns as as well as this is not a Celtic issue but a national one.

Celtic went through in Europe a couple of seasons ago when a team – who were horsing Celtic and could comfortably have seen out the match with 10 men on the park! – foolishly put on an “improperly registered” sub for the closing minutes. UEFA noticed this, applied the rules, and turned the result on its head giving Celtic a 3 nil victory. You’d be hard pushed to spot a single properly registered Rangers player during their extensive cheating years. APPLY THE RULES!!!

I applaud this article and it’s comforting to know there are organisations like you guarding the gates against corruption in our game our game is nothing without the supporters the SFA &SPL are riddled with bigots and corruption we have all need to come together as fans not just Celtic fans the whole of the SPL. Stamp out this disease that permeates from the shadows if ipox SFA&SPL l have signed the online campaign against corruption in our game and l feel so strongly about this issue but have to rely on institutions like yourselves please bring an end to this blatant corruption.

The difference is EUFA apply the rules as they are written. The SFA apply the rules depending on the commercial benefits. #stripthetitles
