This year, the 50th Anniversary of Lisbon, has seen the greatest team in the history of our football club be rightly remembered. From the 67th minute tribute, the Celtic Way celebrating the Lions, to gala dinners and concerts.  The Lions have given so us so much and it’s time we gave them something back. This year has also been tinged with sadness with Billy McNeill’s illness becoming public, the death of Tommy Gemmell and also remembering the Lions that have past away.

Celtic Quick News wants to present the Lions, or the nearest and dearest of those sadly no longer with us, with something from the Celtic support, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary.

CQN have produced a book entitled “In The Heat Of Lisbon” and recreated the famous Jock Stein T-shirt as seen on the pitch that famous day.

The book is actually two books. The first part is a book called “A Season In The Sun.” It was first published in 1992 and is now something of a collectors item. It has been updated for the 50th Anniversary.  The second part of the book is a new work called “The Fans Came In Their Thousands” by Mike Maher who travelled as a young lad to Lisbon on the Holiday Enterprises coaches from Glasgow.

Up until the 14th April both the book and the t-shirt will be available for combined price of £19.67. After that they will be £14.99 each. This is not for profit. All the money will be directly used to purchase gifts for the Lions and their families.
