Fixture News

The Europa League draw was made on Friday it threw up a group where we face teams with history, riches and Champions League experience.

Ajax: A quick return to Celtic Park and us to Amsterdam after meeting in the 2013/14 Champions League. Both games are remembered for the trouble surrounding them. They were defeated by SK Rapid Wein in this season Champions League qualifying round before defeating FC Bamuit Jablonec in the Europa League Play Off.

Last season they went one further than Celtic by getting to the last 16 of the Europa League beating Leiga Warsaw before succumbing to eventually finalists FC Dinpro Dnipropetrovsk after finishing 3rd in their Champions League Group. They are currently unbeaten domestically.

Fixture Dates: (A) 7th September 2015 6:00pm, (H) 22nd November 2015 8:05pm

Fenerbache SK: Celtic have never faced a Turkish side in European competition and this draw is one of the toughest we could have got. The big spending Turks will arrive in this competition with serious intentions of making a mark. Their marquee signing has been Robin Van Persie but also Nani, Fernandeo, Fabiano and De Souza have added Brazilian steel and flair to their ranks.

They lost to Shakter Donestk in the Qualifying Round of the Champions League before easily dispatching Armoritos in the Europa League Play Off.

Fixture Dates: (H) 1st October 2015 8:05pm, (A) 10th December 2015 8:05pm

FK Molde: The current Norwegian Champions and Cup holders impressively knocked out Standard Liege in the Europa League play off on away goals. They were also unlucky to be defeated on away goals by Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League qualifying round.   Like ourselves they have a patchy qualifying record in Europe but their has seem to have been an up-turn in all Norwegian teams European results this season.

Sitting 7th in the Tippeligaen with little hope of European qualification next season the Europa League is their last chance of success and we have already seen what happens when mid table Scandinavians put all their focus on European competition.

Fixture Dates: (A) 22nd October 2015 8:05pm, (H) 5th November 2015 6pm
