As expected Polish Champions Legia Warsaw dispatched St Pats with little or no fuss this week to set up a mouth-watering clash in the Champions League 3rd Round qualifier. Legia are defiantly the biggest side we have faced in the last few seasons in this qualifying route and they are a club with a proud history of success at home and abroad.

Last season they got to the play off round and were knocked out on away goals by Steaua Bucharest but the drop into the Europa League saw them only win once and finish bottom of their group. Legia have a few familiar faces. Henning Berg was part of a Rangers side that failed to win a single game against Celtic in a season and Henrik Ojamaa caused us more problems in his spell with Motherwell.

Like most Polish teams the Champions League group stages have proved beyond them and they haven’t qualified for them since 1995/96. A big name who have struggled with the financial chasms that have developed in the modern game but still represent a massive danger to us in our current guise.

The first leg will be held in the Pepsi Arena on Wednesday 30th July 2014 with a 19:45pm kick off. The game is live on Premier Sports.

The return leg will be held at the BT Murrayfield Stadium on Wednesday 6th August with a 19:45pm kick off. Season ticket holders can now purchase tickets priced at £20 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under 13’s. Season ticket holders can also purchase up to 4 additional tickets.

Both ties have the potential to be epic.

Can I please buy 4 tickets. On holiday from Canada, would be appreciated so much.

    Kind regards. Gary Toman.
